A socio-cultural group, representing the Wakirike ethnic nationality, has called on Rivers residents to disregard claims by one Taribo Benson and others, alleging that Abonnema Wharf belongs to the Kalabari people.

The Public Relations Officer of the group, Israel Aseminaso, made this known during a press briefing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Clarifying their position over the waterfront, located within the Port Harcourt City Local Government area, the Public Relations Officer said media propaganda cannot make them shift grounds.

The group issued a 14-day ultimatum to the instigator to retract the claim through various media or face the consequences.
