Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has reassured the people and children of Agatu Local Government Area that the days of attacks and displacement from their communities as a result of armed herdsmen, bandits are over.

Governor Alia celebrating 2026 Children's Day, demonstrating the return of peace after a long time in the local government, promised that insecurity will be a thing of the past with sustained push.

As peace returned to Agatu after years of insecurity from violent attacks, Chairman of the local government council, Melvin Ejeh, on behalf of Governor Alia, attributed the return of peace and stability to the governor's Intervention, which, he said, has brought hope in the community, despite elements of insecurity still exist in some areas. He thanked Governor Alia for his commitment to protecting lives and property.
