Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Future for Nigerian Children
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building an inclusive society where every Nigerian child has equal access to education, healthcare, protection and opportunities to thrive.
The President, in his message to commemorate the 2026 National Children’s Day celebration held under the theme, Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child, stated that no Nigerian child should ever feel invisible, unheard, excluded or forgotten.
The message was delivered on his behalf by the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim.
Tinubu described Nigerian children as the pride of the Republic and custodians of the nation’s future, noting that the country’s destiny depends largely on the opportunities created for children today..
According to him, inclusion must become the moral foundation of national development, with every child guaranteed access to quality education, healthcare, nutrition, digital opportunities and protection regardless of location or social status.
Tinubu assured Nigerian children that his administration is paying closer attention to their voices, aspirations and concerns, adding that governance under his administration would continue to prioritise child participation and welfare.
The President also explained that the declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Families and Social Development” reflects the government’s recognition of the family as the bedrock of national stability and child development.
He acknowledged the economic and social pressures confronting many families but assured Nigerians that the government remains committed to implementing people-centred programmes aimed at easing hardship and improving family welfare.
Tinubu highlighted several initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda, including the Renewed Hope Social Impact Intervention–774 initiative, designed to expand access to education, healthcare, nutrition and economic empowerment across all 774 local government areas.
The President further outlined efforts to improve child welfare through investments in healthcare, nutrition, education and youth empowerment.
