Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, Mark, Others Lead Save Democracy Protest

Former vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Engr. Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso, former Senate President David mark, and others are leading the ongoing Save Democracy protest in Abuja, of INEC’s deleting of the African Democratic Congress’ leadership from its website.

The Senator David Mark's leadership was deleted from INEC portal last week by the commission which claimed it was following court judgement.

INEC had announced that it will not deal with any leadership of the opposition ADC due to a ruling of an Appeal Court in Abuja.

The Appeal Court had, last week, ruled in Case No. CA/ABJ/145/2026 (Mark v Gombe & Ors), ordering a maintenance of status quo ante bellum (the situation existing before the dispute), which was interpreted by the INEC to imply the removal of Mark and Secretary Rauf Aregbesola from the Portal.

From the Kwankwasiyya Movement to the Obidient Movement, the Sowore Group, including supporters of ADC, the streets of Abuja is filled as they match to the INEC Headquarters to affirm their call for the sack of the INEC chairman.

Security agencies, including the Police and Civil Defence, have since mounted barricades to contain and control the surging crowd.
