The Police have arrested and paraded 11 suspected political thugs in Ikun-Ekiti, ahead of the All Progressives Congress primary election for the House of Representatives scheduled for 16 May 2026.
One of the suspects paraded by the police included Dayo Ibijowo, Special Assistant to the Governor of Ekiti State.
The Commissioner of Police of the Ekiti State Command, Falade Micheal, told journalists that the arrests followed credible intelligence received on 14 May 2026. According to him, the information indicated that a group of armed hoodlums had been sighted in a hotel in Ikun-Ekiti.
