Police Arrest Delta Works Commissioner Over Bloody Attack On Governors Aide
The police have arrested the Commissioner for Work in Deltas, Reuben Izeze, for alleged instigation of the attack on a governor's aide during the stakeholders meeting of the All Progressives Congress at the Petroleum Training Institute conference center in Effurun.
The Delta State Police Command, Effurun Division, had arrested the commissioner after he had jumped bail and fled to Abuja with one of the suspects, who allegedly stabbed the governor's protocol officer, Temple Mudi, who was rushed to the hospital in a pool of blood by the Chairman of the Uvwie Local Government Council, Anthony Ofoni.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Delta State Command, Edafe Bright, declined comment, but the outgoing Police Commissioner, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, confirmed the arrest, saying the commissioner was detained through a court order after jumping bail.
