Police Arrest Firearms Repairer in Enugu
The Police have arrested a suspected firearms repairer and two other male suspects for unlawful possession of firearms, ammunition and cult related activities in Enugu State.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Enugu State Command, Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement, indicated that the operation was conducted across the state, leading to the recovery of locally made guns, six live cartridges, a motorcycle and other incriminating items within the Nsukka area of the state.
The PPRO noted that arrest was said carried out by the operatives attached to the surveillance team of Okpuje Division, while on Stop-and-Search duty in Nsukka local government area of the state.
Efforts, according to the police, are ongoing to arrest other members of the gang who are currently at large, as well as their sponsors.
The Enugu Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Giwa, commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism, and reaffirmed the commands resolve to sustain the fight against crime and Criminality in the state.
