President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, decorated the acting Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, at the State House, Abuja. The President urged the new IGP to strengthen the discipline, enhance inter-agency collaboration and restore public confidence in Nigerian police.

Tinubu enjoined Disu to lead firmly but fairly, demand professionalism at every level and ensure that safety of lives and property remains the highest priority.

The President expressed optimism that the new police IG can do the job. He expressed full support to the new administration of the Police Force in the quest to advance the security pillars of his Renewed Hope Agenda.

Acting IGP Tunji Disu promised to end human rights abuses in the police.

He also pledged to encourage professionalism and end impunity in the force.
