Reps Scolds CPRCN, Issues 7-Day Ultimatum For Submission Of Outstanding Documents
The House of Representatives Committee on Federal Polytechnics and Higher Technical Education, at the budget defence session, scolded the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria, CPRCN, over compliance lapses. The Committee issued 7-day ultimatum to the Council to submit all outstanding documents.
The Chairman of the Committee, Fuad Laguda, raised concerns over compliance lapses and staffing gaps at the council.
Laguda questioned how the Council operates eight regional offices with only 58 staff members, seeking clarification on its coordination and service delivery structure.
The Registrar of CPN, Adebayo Adegbiji, assured the lawmakers of the Council’s commitment to its regulatory mandate and pledged to submit the requested documents within the stipulated timeframe.
The committee also approved the budget performance reports of federal polytechnics across the country.
Laguda reaffirmed the panel’s commitment to strengthening technical education, describing polytechnics as vital to Nigeria’s industrial and technological advancement.
