Fire Engulfs Head Of Service Office, Abuja
A section of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Abuja, was on Monday, engulfed by fire.
Eyewitness footage showed thick plumes of dark smoke rising from an upper floor of the multi-storey building opposite the Federal Secretariat.
The dense black smoke billowing, with the fire appearing concentrated in one wing of the building.
The fire outbreak occurred at Section C of the building, also known as "Bullet House".
Staff members and other individuals within the building were seen moving away from the area as emergency responders were alerted to contain the situation.
The Media Department of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation confirmed the incident, saying the fire outbreak was limited to Section C of the building and that emergency officials were already responding.
The exact cause of the fire was yet to be determined at the time of this report, while investigations are expected to begin after the situation is brought fully under control.
