The Police have carried out clearance operations in Asaba, Delta State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Delta State Command, Edafe Bright, in a statement indicated that the Command has cleared several criminal hideouts within Asaba metropolis and the environs, in a coordinated show of force and clearance operation.

Edafe Bright said the operation was targeted at identified criminal hideouts within Asaba and its environs, as part of efforts put in place to ensure that crime prevention strategy is maintained.

Operatives of the clearance Squad were drawn from the Department of Operations, Buffalo Squad, Crack Squad, Rapid Response Squad, among others.

The Police combed suspected criminal hideouts, including shanties and makeshift camps, believed to serve as safe havens for criminal elements, including suspected IPOB/ESM members.

The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, assured the public that the operation was part of the ongoing proactive strategies to prevent crime, deter criminal activities, and maintain public order across the state.
