The security system in Benue State became devastated in the early hours of Sunday, creating space for bandits to engaged in fresh attack, killing many in rural communities in Ukum Local Government Area.

Terrorists masquerading as herdsmen carried out fresh attack i the early morning of Sunday on Mbaterem - Ayaba, Ikpur, Yina, Aboajio, Ukpen communities - of Mbazun Ward in Ukum Local Government Area, Benue State, killing several people and many others injured.

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State condemn the attack and consoled those who lost their loved ones and the injured.

A statement by the Governor's Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kulas, indicated that the governor vowed to keep giving the necessary support to security agencies to effectively protect the state. He warned that anyone who thinks attacking communities will intimidate Benue to leave its land is making a mistake.

The Governor assured the people of the state that his administration will not relent in its efforts to protect them.
