Police Recover Stolen Vehicles, Arrest Suspect In Edo
The Police, in stop-and-search operation, discovered stolen vehicles in Edo State.
Operatives of the Edo State Police Command, Benin City, attached to the Textile Mill Road Division in Benin City, recovered suspected stolen vehicles during a routine Stop-and-Search operation within the area of responsibility.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Edo State Command, ASP Eno Ikoedem, in a statement, indicated the arrest of a driver, identified as Ezekiel Aguele, who led the police to arrest the prime suspect and self acclaimed owner named Emmanuel Afolayan.
According to the police, the documents of the Mini-Bus were forged, as the particulars presented proved to be fake.
The arrested suspect has confessed to the crime and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.
The Edo police commissioner CP Monday Agbonika commends the vigilance and professionalism of the officers involved in the operation, as he reiterates the importance of Stop-and-Search operation as a proactive policing strategy to end crime prevention, detection and arrest of criminal elements.
