Femi Fani-Kayode has warned an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Jingir, against Islamic extremism following his statement on domination of Christians and the continuation of the Muslim-Muslim ticket of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Femi Fani-Kayode cautioned Jingir that his statement is highly provocative, and should guard against the use of extremist rhetoric in the buildup to the 2027 elections.

According to Fani-Kayode, “They support the Muslim-Muslim ticket in 2027, just as we did in 2023, solely because of the candidates’ competence, integrity, character, policies, ability to win elections, and capacity to deliver, not simply because they are Muslims.

“Let us not allow Sheikh Jingir’s comments to divide us. We are Nigerians before we are Christians or Muslims. We should stand together and go to the polls together.”
