The Police arrested 32 suspected cultists in Delta State. The arrested was effected by operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit of the State Police Command.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Delta State Command, Edafe Bright, in a statement, emphasized that the arrest of the suspect is in line with the ongoing campaign against cultism and other violent crimes, leading to the recovery of firearms, ammunition , communication gadgets and illicit Drugs.

The arrest was made in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South LGA, based on intelligence gathering. The police stormed their hideouts during initiation and engaged the criminals in a shootout, leading to two of the suspects sustaining gunshot injuries.

The Delta Police Commissioner, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the gallantry and professionalism of the operatives in the operations, and reaffirmed the command's unwavering commitment to combating Cultism, violent crimes and other forms of Criminality across the state.
