A frontline presidential aspirant, Peter Obi, has been screened and cleared by the Nigeria Democratic Party, NDC, preparatory to the party's presidential primary election in the buildup to the 2027 general elections.

The screening committee evaluated the eligibility of Peter Obi to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of party, within the context of the NDC constitution, the Electoral Act and the Nigerian Constitution.
