Osun 2026: Tinubu Intimidates Adeleke, EFCC Freezes Osun Statutory Allocation Account 10 Days To Election Day
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may be intimidating Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, deploying the federal might of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to freeze the Osun State Government's Statutory Allocation Account domiciled in First Bank 10 days to the Saturday, August 15 governorship election, under the guise of investigation activities.
Governor Ademola Adeleke maintained that the action was politically motivated and aimed at frustrating his re-election bid.
The governor revealed that the EFCC had earlier invited several government officials for questioning and requested explanations on government transactions, but argued that freezing the state's statutory account was beyond the powers of the commission
Governor Adeleke, therefore, instructed the Attorney General of the State and Commissioner for Justice,Jimi Bada, to challenge the action in court.
