The Nigeria Customs Service has released the final list of 3,852 successful applicants for the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise. The Service apologized for over two years of delay.

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, in Abuja on Tuesday, said the Service received 573,680 applications for just 3,852 vacancies, making the exercise one of the most competitive in history.

He attributed the delay to the volume of applications, extensive verification processes, and a high rate of retirements among senior officers, stressing that every successful candidate emerged through a transparent and merit-based selection process.

The successful candidates comprise 1,275 in the Superintendent Cadre, 357 in the Inspectorate Cadre, and 2,210 in the Customs Assistant Cadre.

He said the 2026 recruitment exercise will commence later this year and, for the first time, will be completed within a single calendar year, giving qualified Nigerians a predictable opportunity to apply every year.

Adeniyi warned applicants against fraudsters, stressing that recruitment into the Nigeria Customs Service remains completely free.
