Operation HADIN KAI Forces ISWAP Commanders To Surrender
The Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, in a successful counter terrorism warfare against Boko Haram and ISWAP, overpowered and forced ISWAP commanders to surrender to troops in North East Nigeria.
Troops acted promptly on credible and timely intelligence, overrun the camps of ISWAP, compelling top commanders abandoned their enclaves and surrender to the military in the North East theatre.
According to the Army, the surrendered leaders are now in a secure location where they are undergoing profiling, debriefing, and other standard operational procedures.
Military officials said the wave of surrenders is a direct result of relentless pressure from sustained offensive operations. The ongoing campaign has been dismantling terrorist strongholds, breaking command and logistics networks, and denying insurgents freedom of movement across the region. According to the task force, persistent operations have degraded combat capabilities and weakened morale among terrorist ranks and leadership.
Operation HADIN KAI confirmed that 76 terrorist foot soldiers, some with their families, laid down arms and surrendered to troops. This latest group joins the senior ISWAP figures who turned themselves in, further signaling collapse within the insurgents’ structures.
In Maiduguri, Borno State, Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed Goni, assured that Operation HADIN KAI remains committed to its mission. He noted that pressure on the remaining terrorists will continue without pause until they are either neutralized or forced to surrender, with the ultimate goal of restoring lasting peace and security to the region.
