Group Petitions ICPC, Demands Investigation Into Alleged N2bn Financial misappropriation at OGWAMA
A group, under the aegis of the Assembly of Patriots International, has petitioned the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, demanding a comprehensive investigation into allegation of financial misappropriation in the Ogun State Waste Management Authority, OGWAMA, over the past few years.
The group also indicted the former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of OGWAMA, Abayomi Hunye, in the allegation.
The coordinator of the group, Kazeem Soliu, at a press conference at Ogun NUJ Secretariat, Iwe-Iroyin Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, disclosed that a petition was submitted to ICPC by the Democratic Integrity Forum on June 18, 2026.
He said the petition seeks thorough investigation into allegations of abuse of office, diversion of public funds, unlawful enrichment, conflict of interest, nepotism, and other alleged corrupt practices during Hunye’s tenure as head of OGWAMA.
Soliu said that while serving as Managing Director of the agency, Hunye was entrusted with the responsibility of managing public resources in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
