Bandits Unleash Mayhem, Kill 9 in Kaduna
Bandits unleashed mayhem in Ungwan Magaji, Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, killing nine persons, and injuring others.
The nine murdered victims include five adults and four children, they were killed within their community before being laid to rest in a mass burial.
Community sources stressed that the attack was not linked to farmer-herder tensions. They said it did not take place on a cattle route or farmland, but rather inside the community itself, where residents were targeted in their homes. The nature of the assault has deepened fear and grief among survivors.
The mass burial of the nine slain indigenes also exposed, what many described as, a painful absence of leadership. The Governor, the member, representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, the Kauru/Chawai State Assembly member, and the Kauru Local Government Chairman, were all absent, and none sent representative.
