Police Arrest 2 For Self Kidnap In Edo
The Police, in rescue operation, arrested two persons for conspiring to stage fake self-kidnap in do State. The two suspects were identified as Lucky Alabi and Taiye Enahoro.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Edo State Command, ASP Eno Ikoedem, in a statement, indicated that the police acted on credible intelligence and diligent investigative efforts, which led to the arrest of both suspects, after they placed several telephone calls to relatives of the fake kidnap of Lucky Alabi.
The suspects were said to have demanded the sum of N4 million ransom for his release before they were tricked and arrested.
Both suspects, according to the police, have confessed to their respective roles in the staged kidnapping; and will be charged to court.
The Commissioner of Police, Ecostate, CP Monday Agbonika, warned members of the public against engaging in any form of criminal deception, including staging kidnapping to extort money from unsuspecting relatives.
