Police Charge Students To Shun Social Vices, Pursue Academic Excellence
The Nigeria Police Force has charged Nigerian students to remain committed to academic excellence and avoid social vices capable of destroying their future.
The advice was given by the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, while receiving a delegation from the Department of Geosciences of the University of Lagos at the Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
The delegation, made up of lecturers and students of Geology and Geophysics, was led by Akinmosin Adewale as part of a geological fieldwork excursion within Ogun State.
CP Ojajuni urged the students to remain disciplined, focused and determined in their academic pursuits, stressing that education remains a major pathway to personal growth and national development.
The police commissioner also warned the students against involvement in cultism, drug abuse, examination malpractice and other criminal activities, saying such acts could negatively affect their future and threaten societal peace.
He emphasized that integrity, discipline and hard work remain key values for achieving lasting success.
Professor Adewale emphasised that exposing students to security institutions would help build civic responsibility and strengthen their understanding of public safety.
