The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North in the National Assembly, have declared support for local government autonomy, expressing that developing the rural areas is key in enhancing local government autonomy.

At the Commissioning of 54 construction equipment provided for the 18 local government areas in the state, they reemphasized the essence of taking governance and development to the grassroots.

The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, cutting the tape at the commissioning, reiterated the need for grassroots development.

Oshiomhole recalled how Wike assisted him when he had crisis as Governor of Edo State.
