Oyo Lauds Citizens For Embracing Peace At Eid Fitri

The Oyo State Government has praised citizens for their commitment to peaceful coexistence, as Muslims in the State celebrate Eid Fitri, marking the end of Ramadan fasting.

The Eid Fitri prayer drew large Muslim faithful at various praying grounds in Ibadan.

Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal of Oyo State joined the Muslim faithful at the Yidi praying ground in Agodi, Ibadan, to celebrate the occasion. His presence underscored the state's commitment to fostering harmony among its diverse populace.

The Deputy Governor  commended the people of Oyo State for embracing peace, saying it has greatly contributed to the state's growth. He conveyed the Governor's message, urging Muslims to sustain the teachings of Ramadan, emphasizing sacrifice and selflessness.

The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rasheed Ladoja, the Arusa 1, also used the occasion to stress the importance of security. He urged Muslim faithful not to let their sacrifices and endurance of 30 days of fasting be in vain. He called for continued vigilance and cooperation with security agencies.

The Eid Fitri celebration was marked by prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity in Oyo State. Faithful gathered at various mosques and prayer grounds, showcasing the state's rich Islamic heritage.
