There is noticeable mix-up in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State over endorsement of incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke for the forthcoming governorship election.

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party has directed party members across the state to mobilise massive support for incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke's re-election, though, he is contesting on the platform of the Accord Party, AP.

Addressing party representatives and stakeholders across the state, who converged in Osogbo, PDP factional leader, Sunday Bisi, said the directive was a strategic move aimed at consolidating ongoing development in the state.

He noted that national crisis truncated efforts of the party to field a candidate for the forthcoming governorship election. Hence, the need to take the step in the interest of the people.

Sunday Bisi insisted that the PDP remains united under his leadership.

The leadership of the PDP Caretaker Committee expressed different position. He said the only recognised chairman of the PDP in the state is Tunji Tijani. He said that the party has an eligible candidate to contest in the coming governorship election.
