Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has promised to combat illegal migration from the state.

The governor received, in audience, a delegation of the International Organization For Migration, IOM, at the Government House, Benin City, who were on consultation over rising cases of illegal migration in Europe and other parts of the world from Edo State.

The head of the International Organization For Migration, Ms Dimanche Sharon, led a team to the Edo State, at deliberate on the recurring cases of high number of Migrants from the state.

The IOM team met with the governor at the Government House two weeks after a press briefing to find a lasting solution to the illegal migration crisis in the state.

Governor Okpebholo reiterated efforts of the government in creating an enabling environment that will prevent people from leaving the state.

The IOM head of mission to Nigeria, Ms Dimanche Sharon, said Nigeria is blessed with abundant resources.
