Obi Escapes Assassination In Benin

A frontline presidential aspirant on the platform of the African Development Congress, ADC, Peter Obi, escaped assassination in Benin City, Edo State.

Obi was among the ADC leaders that were attacked by armed men at the residence of former Governor John Odigie-Oyegun. The team had departed the ADC State Secretariat for the residence of Odigie-Oyegun in Benin city, where the hoodlums struct.

The hoodlums were said to have fled the violent scene when operatives of the Department of Security Services, DSS, responded with superior fireworks.
Some persons were said to be injured.

Obi narrated how the hoodlums stormed the residence of Oyegun, shooting in front of the house. Bullets were seen littered in front of the gate to the former governor's residence, including bullet hole on the gate.

The car of the ADC State Youth Leader in Edo was damaged.

The police, however, arrived the scene after the gunmen had escaped.
