Obi Phobia Deeply Infests ADC
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has been showing indicators of being deeply infested by Obi phobia as the political clout and leadership charisma of Peter Obi, a frontline presidential aspirant on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has continued to rise across the country in the buildup to the 2027 general elections.
Obi dumped the ADC for the NDC.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, is not left out of the Obi phobia. The ruling APC also fret over the decision of the NDC, and some other Opposition Political Parties to zone the 2027 presidential ticket to the South. The resolution scuttled the sole southern candidacy of incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which is overtly threatened by the rising political profile of Peter Obi of the NDC, across the country.
Paradoxically, Dele Momodu of the ADC could not hold back the trepidation of the Obi phenomenon, with his outburst that "Nigerians should not make the 2027 election all about Peter Obi alone". Dele Momodu of the African Democratic Congress was of the view that the ruling APC is using the zoning debate as a political strategy to retain power in the buildup to the 2027 presidential election.
