House of Reps Caucus Demands Tinubu To Free Nnamdi Kanu
The Caucus Leader of the Action Peoples Party, APP, in the House of Representatives, Ikenga Ugochinyere, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to adopt a political solution in resolving the case of Nnamdi Kanu.
Ugochinyere, in an interactive session with constituents under the Ideato Peoples Assembly at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, said the release of Kanu would help consolidate ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the South East region, adding that it would fast-track reconciliation and reduce tensions linked to perceived injustice.
The lawmaker urged the President to consider exercising his constitutional powers, including discontinuing the case or granting a pardon. He noted that such a move would mark a decisive step toward ending the prolonged crisis in the region.
Ugochinyere expressed confidence that the President would give the appeal due consideration in the interest of national unity and lasting peace.
He also commended the Department of State Services and the Nigerian Army for their role in restoring calm in parts of Ideato and the wider South-East.
