The Commissioner of Police of the Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, marking the 2026 National Police Week, presented a cheque of N16.649 million to families of 13 deceased police officers.

The event which signifies the culmination of the week-long activities within the state, precedes the grand finale scheduled to hold at the Force headquarters in Abuja.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Delta State Command, Asaba, Edafe Bright,
in a statement, indicated that the sum of N16.649 million was presented to 13 beneficiaries as part of efforts to support families of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

CP Yemi Oyeniyi described the occasion as both solemn and significant, noting that it reflected the commitment of the Force leadership to the welfare of its personnel and their families.

He assured the beneficiaries that the Nigeria Police Force is with them and will continue to support them.
