Bandits renewed hostilities in a fresh attack on Sabon Gyero community in Kaduna State in the early hours of Monday. The bandits, in the attack, killed one person and kidnapped seven others. 

The attackers, who were in large numbers, kidnapped three women and four children from a residence.

The bandits also struck at a phone charging centre, shooting and killing a young man, Abdullahi Lawal, aka "Kurma". They took away several mobile phones and laptops. 
Kurma, who was deaf and non-verbal, died from a gunshot wound on the head before reaching hospital.

The Joint Task Force responded to the attack but could not catch the bandits, they had fled before the arrival of the task force. One kidnapped woman was later released due to health issues.

Sabon Gyero is near Dan Hono 2 community, which had been attacked over 10 times.

The security situation in the area is tense, with residents frightened by the latest incident.
