Governor Sani Cautions Against Compromising Peace In Kaduna

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, at a State Security Council Meeting held at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, cautioned anyone compromising the peace of the state.

The governor said his administration will not allow the politicisation of insecurity in Kaduna State. He admonished that anyone or any group trying to undermine peace in the state will face the full weight of the law. He insisted that protecting lives and property is his constitutional duty and he will carry it out without compromise.

Governor Sani maintained that his approach is preventive, not reactive. The core is the Kaduna Peace Model, built on inclusivity, intelligence-led operations, inter-agency coordination, and community ownership. He called for stronger grassroots intelligence, deeper collaboration with traditional and religious institutions, and seamless coordination among security agencies to stay ahead of threats.

The minister of Defence noted intelligence as the most critical asset. He said that strengthened systems for timely information gathering and real-time sharing have helped detect threats early, disrupt criminal networks, and prevent escalation. He said Kaduna is gaining recognition for this coordinated approach and the results are clear, though improvement remains a focus.

The Governor warned that the threat landscape is evolving and may be influenced by political opportunism, especially, as a sensitive political period approaches. He acknowledged support from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and praised Defence Minister Christopher Musa. He also commended security agencies, paramilitary bodies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders, noting that security is sustained by legitimacy, cooperation, and shared values, not force alone.
