Ekiti Launches "Operation Comb The BUSH To Combat Insecurity
The Ekiti State Government has intensified security operations across border communities with renewed show of force towards preventing infiltration of criminals and sustaining peace in the state.
The latest initiative is the establishment of a joint force for extensive bush-combing exercises and coordinated deployment of security personnel. This is the second phase of intervention to reinforce the initial 'security sweep' launched last month, following security alerts raised by residents of communities bordering Kogi and Kwara states.
Security chiefs explained that the operation was initiated after residents of some border communities raised concerns about threats posed by bandits and kidnappers operating in neighbouring states.
The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Michael Falade, assured residents that security agencies operating in the state are working in close collaboration to maintain law and order.
