The police have arrested two suspected kidnappers in connection with a kidnapping syndicate at Ekiugbo area of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, Edafe Bright, in a statement indicated that the suspects, Ahmadu Usman, a citizen from Plateau, and Haruna Abdullahi were arrested at the trailer park along the Warri/Sapele Expressway.

According to the PPRO, the police recovered one AK-47 Rifle with 36 rounds of live ammunition from the suspects. They were said to be behind major kidnapping incidence along the Warri/Sapele Expressway.

The arrest of the notorious suspects were said to have been possible through proactive measures by the Delta police tactical team who acted on credible information leading to their arrest.

The Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, while commending the tactical team, reiterated the command's zero tolerance for kidnapping. He assured residents of sustained operations to ensure public safety.
