Police Arrest Popular Content Creator, 40, For Rape of 20-Year Girl In Delta
The Delta State Police Command has arrested one Ifeanyi Ogbonna, 40-year-old male popular content creator, known as ODOGWU OF ASABA, in connection with the alleged rape of a 20-year-old girl, named Favour Abgboro, who later died after making a viral video.
The arrest, according to the State Police Command PPRO, Edafe Bright, followed a petition received by the Command, alleging that the deceased travelled to Asaba at the invitation of the suspect who had offered to train her in content creation.
The suspect took her to his hotel room where she was allegedly raped and subjected to physical violence, which led to her reporting to her parents when she got home and made a video in a quiet room, before committing suicide through ingested pills, despite efforts to save her life.
The Delta Police Commissioner, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, had directed the Effurun Area Command to carry out a thorough investigation leading to the arrest of Ifeanyi Ogbonna.
The police commissioner promised the family of the deceased and the public that the case will be thoroughly investigated with no aspect of the allegation overlooked.
