The Coalition of Arewa Youth Groups and Civil Society Organizations have raised alarm, demanding investigation into the alleged plots within the security circle to poison former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and release him on the condition that could lead to his death outside the prison.

The Coalition also decried the bail conditions given by the Court for the release of the former Governor.

At a news conference in Abuja, on behalf of the Coalition, Ibrahim Sanusi Modibbo and Ibrahim Wala, stated that the alleged plots according to a Public commentator, Tomi Frank, has stepped beyond being a mere allegation, being a member of the ruling party in the country.

They posited that the opposition parties and the entire Nigerians viewed the allegation as serious and the possibility of a state sponsored harm against an individual, who has never been convicted.

On the continuous detention of Nasir El-Rufai and the inability of his family members, Associates and medical team to access him, the Coalition described the development as absurd and unconstitutional, and took exception to what it called double standards in the administration of justice in Nigeria.

The Coalition further called for the review of the bail conditions put forward by the legal counsel for the release of El-Rufai, then, end selective persecution.

The Coalition further implored the international community, diplomatic Mission, Human Right Organisations and well meaning Nigerians to pay undivided attention to what is happening.
