Catholic Church Build New Houses For Victims Of Terrorism

The President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference and Bishop of Kaduna Diocese, Most Rev. Matthew Ndagoso, mobilized funds to build new houses for victims of terrorists attacks in the North.

Bishop Ndagoso supervised the official handover of new houses built by the Catholic Church to the people of Adama Dutse in Kajuru Local Government Area. The community had been severely affected by insurgent attacks, which led to the loss of lives and the destruction of homes and property.

The President of the Catholic Bishops enjoined the Federal Government to intensify its efforts in the fight against insurgency.

The Bishop said he was deeply moved when he first visited the community to distribute relief materials to victims of the attack. During that visit, residents expressed their determination to remain in their ancestral homes rather than relocate to cities and live as internally displaced persons, IDPs.

Also, Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Area, Dauda Madaki, encouraged community members to embrace a culture of maintenance as they begin using the new houses. He stressed the importance of taking care of the facilities to ensure their longevity.

On behalf of the community, Yunusa Leonard expressed gratitude to Bishop Ndagoso and the Catholic Diocese of Kaduna for restoring hope and comfort to the people. He said the intervention had put smiles on their faces and allowed them to live more securely in their rebuilt homes.
