The Benue State Police Command, marking this year's National Police Day, presented N3.6 million cheque to families of 7 officers who died on active service.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Yakubu Mohammed, made the presentation on behalf of the Commissioner of Police in Benue State, CP Ifeanyi Emenari.

DCP Mohammed, commending their resilience, said the funds were approved by the Inspector general of Police from the Police Welfare Scheme. He assured them of Police continuous support.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Asuquo Okon, advised the beneficiaries to invest the money into useful ventures while they await other benefits.
