The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, indicated that arrangements for elective national convention has been concluded. The PDP leadership said the party is fully prepared for a credible and peaceful 2026 National Convention for the election of the National Working Committee, NWC, members.

The PDP Caretaker Committee National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, at a media briefing in Abuja, said all arrangements for the convention have been concluded in line with the party’s constitution.

He described the convention as a key moment for the party’s democratic process and unity.

Mohammed urged members to remain calm and focused, despite attempts to disrupt the exercise. He disclosed the PDP is committed to reconciliation and discipline.

He called on delegates and stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully, noting that the success of the convention depends on collective order.

The party also commended the Federal Capital Territory administration for its support in ensuring a conducive environment.

On reports of legal challenges, Mohammed dismissed claims of any court order stopping the convention, describing them as unfounded rumors.

He maintained that the event will proceed as planned, to strengthen the party ahead of future engagements.
