Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State drafted Idris Abdul Kareem, a musician and Activist, into  tour of project sites in the state, one week after the state government shut down an event centre where Kareem performed in Benin City.

The Edo State Government had a fortnight ago sealed an event center in Benin City where Idris Abdul Kareem, while performing on stage, criticized governments at all levels for hunger and starvation in the country.

Governor Okpebholo, therefore, coopted the musician into his convoy on a tour of ongoing projects in the state, for, what he described as, an on-the-spot assessment of projects under his administration.

The inspection of ongoing projects across Benin City and Environs by the Governor and the Nigeria Jaga-Jaga crooner, is coming after the musician blamed politicians at a Benin event.

At the inspection site, Governor Okpebholo said the inspection has cleared the doubt of the musician.

Idris Abdulkareem, also, expressed satisfaction over the inspection; while the Information Commissioner in Edo State repudiated negative online reports attributed to the state.
