I Have No Power To Impeach A Governor — Olubadan, Oba Ladoja
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja ARUSA 1, has refuted reports that he is planning to unseat Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
The monarch in a statement, through his media aide, Adeola Oloko, declared that he has no power to impeach a governor, describing the claim as false and misleading.
According to Oba Ladoja, "You don’t have to be a former governor or a distinguished senator to know that a monarch has no power to impeach a local government chairman, not to talk of a state governor".
He maintained: “this becomes intriguing, considering that less than 24 hours ago, the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, alleged a purported plot by the state governor to remove the Olubadan.
"Today, it is the Olubadan who is allegedly planning to impeach the governor; so, who is fooling who?" Olubadan
