Court Judgements Disorganize PDP Further, Agitating Group Rebuilding Strongly
The judgement of the Court of Appeal which upheld the earlier judgement of the Federal High Court nullifying the November 15 and 16 National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had upturned the political leverages of the dominant PDP and the agitating PDP faction led by Nyesom Wike.
Post-judgment political machination of both camps tend to give more advantages to the agitating camp, which members are rebuilding strongly for the control of the PDP structures.
However, the seeming dominant group, having Kabiru Turaki, as the National Chairman, is mobilizing for further litigation in the battle for the soul of the PDP.
Apparently, the caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party is intensifying preparations for national convention scheduled for March 2026.
Visiting the proposed venue of the pending convention, the National Stadium, Velodrome, Chairman of the caretaker committee, Abdulrahman Mohammed, said the venue is almost ready for the event.
He said that with the outcome of the Appeal Court judgment, each and every individual across the federation and those who are in the diaspora all know that they have a party at hand.
He said they are willing to do everything possible to make sure that they have a smooth national convention that the party never, ever had before.
He preached unity among members, calling on party members to come together and work for the progress of the party and democracy in Nigeria.
The national convention is scheduled to hold between March 29 and 30, 2026.
Invariably, the judgements of the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal, have tentatively disorganized the PDP further.
