Benue Govt, Security Chiefs Pay Condolence Visit To Family Of Late MACBAN Leader
Benue State Government, in conjunction with security chiefs in the state paid condolence visit to the family of the diseased leader of Benue State Miyetti Cattle Breeders Association, MACBAN, killed last Friday by gunmen in Oturpo.
Deputy Governor Sam Ode, representing Governor Hyacinth Alia, led the delegation of State government who visited to commiserate with the family and MACBAN community in Otukpo town, alongside heads of security agencies in the state, expresses the state condolences.
He Conveyed the condolence message of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that of Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State over the sad loss of MACBAN leader who many describes as a peaceful and community leader.
The Deputy Governor assured of the state government's commitment to ensure all the perpetrators are brought to book, while calling on the family and the Miyetti Cattle Breeders Association to maintain calm.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Cletus Nwadiaogu, who expressed his condolence, further assured that the Nigeria Police will leave no stone unturned in ensuring justice is served on the perpetrators.
Meanwhile the son of slain MACBAN leader, Mohammed Idris, said this is not the first time such attempt had been made on his life. But expressed worries over the circumstances leading to his death while returning from a security meeting.
