Abbas Preaches Virtues Of Piety, Compassion, Selflessness, Generosity At Eid-el-Fitr
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, congratulating Muslims on end of the Holy month of Ramadan, and the celebration OF Eid-el-Fitr, enjoined the Muslim Faithful to continue to uphold the virtues of piety, compassion, selflessness, and generosity that Ramadan has taught them.
Abbas stated that despite the challenges facing the country, Allah has continued to show mercy to Nigeria.
"Our unity, peace, and stability are strengthened by faith and by the collective prayers of our people. I urge us all not to relent - let us continue to uphold the virtues of piety, compassion, selflessness, and generosity that Ramadan has taught us," Abbas said.
The Speaker, in a goodwill message stated:
"Alhamdulillah! As we mark the end of the blessed month of Ramadan and celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I warmly congratulate Muslim faithful across Nigeria and around the world.
"The past 30 days have been a period of deep reflection, sacrifice, charity, and devotion to Allah (SWT). I believe strongly that the prayers, patience, and unity we have witnessed during Ramadan are guiding our dear nation toward a new dawn.
"Despite the challenges we face as a country, Allah has continued to show mercy to Nigeria. Our unity, peace, and stability are strengthened by faith and by the collective prayers of our people. I urge us all not to relent - let us continue to uphold the virtues of piety, compassion, selflessness, and generosity that Ramadan has taught us.
"It is also significant that this sacred period coincides with the Lent season observed by our Christian brothers and sisters. This reminds us that beyond our differences, we are one people bound by a common destiny and shared hope for a better Nigeria.
"May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and acts of ibadah, and may He grant our nation lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
