Police Arrest 3 Kidnappers In Abuja

Officers of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command in surveillance operations, led by the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, intercepted and arrested 3 suspected kidnappers in the FCT.

The Suspects, identified as Nasiru Abdullahi, Samaila Dahiru and Bello Usman, were linked to multiple kidnapping incidence in the border communities of the FCT.

Sanusi led men of the Command on a strategic operational tour of Gidandogo, Garam and Kungabako villages, in Bwari Area Council, located along the boundaries of the FCT, Niger and Kaduna states.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Nasiru Abdullahi and Samaila Dahiru of Kweri village, Kaduna State, were responsible for the kidnapping of one Mallam Bako from his farmland in Gushawai village on 8th April 2026, after which he was taken to Kweri forest, where a ransom of ₦50 million was demanded before his eventual rescue by operatives of the FCT Police Command Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

The police further disclosed that the suspects were also part of a gang responsible for the abduction of 20 persons in Byazin.

The Commissioner of Police also highlighted the Command's strategic deployments across Bwari Area Council, noting that personnel have been adequately positioned to respond swiftly to threats and prevent further attacks.

The FCT Police Command said the exercise is part of a broader strategy to strengthen community collaboration, dismantle criminal networks, and ensure the safety of residents across the territory.
