The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State, has unveiled Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo as the deputy governorship candidate of the party in the buildup to the 2027 general elections.

At the unveiling ceremony held at the party's secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun Central Chairman of the party, Dotun Keshinro, formally nominated Sowunmi-Kolapo, a move which was subsequently ratified by party members.

With the development, Sowunmi-Kolapo becomes the running mate to the party's governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu, for the 2027 governorship race.

In her remarks, the deputy governorship candidate expressed appreciation to party leaders for the confidence reposed in her and pledged her commitment to the party's quest for victory in the forthcoming election.
