A renowned American civil rights activist, politician, and ordained Baptist minister, Jesse Louis Jackson, is dead. Jesse Jackson died on Tuesday at the age of 84.

He began activism as a young protégé of Martin Luther King Jr. during the civil rights movement.

Jackson was a profound civil rights crusader for over seven decades.

Jackson was the father of U.S. Representative, Jonathan Jackson, Jesse Jackson Jr., and Santita Jackson.
