The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, at the 2026 Leadership Retreat of the Nigeria Revenue Service, emphasized the need to promote internal trade for rapid economic development. He noted that the flow of funding revealed that Nigeria is giving out more than what is coming in.

The maiden leadership Retreat of the Nigeria Revenue Service brought together stakeholders from all facet of the Country's economy. It provided avenue for Cooperation and collaboration on economic growth.

The Director-General, Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, Joseph Tegbe, said the Tax Reform would save Nigerians and the country at large. He said that over dependence on oil has deprived the country of so many things.

The Executive Chairman, Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, emphasized the need for the agency to provide quality leadership. He said that the stake before the Agency is very high.

The Revenue target for the Nigeria Revenue Service for year 2026 is #40.7 Trillion as against #25.2 Trillion in 2025.
