Police Raid Hotspots, Recover Arms In Enugu
The Enugu State Police Command, acting on intelligence, identified and raided criminal Hotspots at different locations in Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Command, Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement in Enugu, indicated policemen, attached to the crack tactical team, acted on intelligence before raiding the hotspots known as four corners in Ozalla community.
According to him, 15 suspects, comprising 9 males and 6 females, were arrested during the operation. The Police recovered one locally fabricated pistol, loaded with one live cartridge, as well as bags of weed.
The PPR|O said the suspects are currently undergoing thorough screening, noting that those found not culpable will be released.
The Commissioner of Police, Mamman Giwa, has also directed supervisory officers in charge of operations and investigations, to sustain the command's proactive crime-fighting strategy by identifying and dismantling criminal hideouts.
